Cetylpyridinium Chloride Lozenges (Cepacol)

Description:

  • Ammonium compound with lower surface tension than water

Indications:

  • Temporary relief of dry mouth and throat

Warnings:

  • Severe sore throat accompanied by high fever, headache, nausea, or vomiting, or any sore throat or mouth irritations persisting more than 2 days may require evaluation

  • In general, do not use with persistent cough or fever, unless being treated by a medical provider for that illness

Dosage:

Administered orally

  • Adult and child > = 6 years: PO dissolve 1 lozenge every 2 hours if needed
