Erythromycin 5% Ophthalmic Ointment (Ilotycin)

Description:

Macrolide

Indications:

Ocular infections/Conjunctivitis

Ophthalmia neonatorum (N. gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia trachomatis)

Contraindications:

None

Precautions:

Pregnancy category B

Use proper ophthalmic application techniques (do not touch tip, wash hands prior)

Adverse Reactions (Side Effects):

Hypersensitivity

Will blur vision

Dosage:

  • Administered by ophthalmic ointment

  • Apply thin ribbon to affected eye(s) 2-4 times day
