Hexachlorophene  (pHisoHex, Septisol)

Hexachlorophene

Category:

  • Antiseptic

Description:

  • Bacteriostatic

Indications:

  • Surgical scrub

  • Bacteriostatic skin cleanser

Contraindications:

  • Burned or denuded skin.

  • Occlusive dressing or wet pack.

  • Vaginal pack.  

Precautions:

  • Pregnancy category C

  • For external use only, do not use near eyes.

  • Rinse skin thoroughly after washing.

  • Do not use on burns or mucous membranes.

Adverse Reactions (Side Effects):

  • Dermatitis

  • Photosensitivity

Dosage:

· Wash area with approximately 5 mL, add water , then work into lather, scrub area, then rinse well.
