Triple Antibiotic Ointment (Bacitracin + Polymyxin B + Neomycin)

(Neosporin, Spectrocin, Clomycin)

Description:

  • Combination topical anti-infective

Indications:

  • Mild to moderate skin infections due to susceptible organisms

Contraindications:

  • None

Precautions:

  • Pregnancy category C

  • For external use only

  • Systemic absorption of neomycin may lead to nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity

Adverse Reactions (Side Effects):

  • Allergic contact dermatitis

  • Ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity

Dosage:

  • Administered topically

  • Apply a small amount to surface 1-3 times per day (do not use > 1 week)
