Vitamin P (Bioflavanoids)

Description:

  • Dietary supplement; water-soluble vitamin

Indications:

  • Hemostatic agent to decrease capillary permeability (bleeding disorders)

  • Vitamin C adjunct

Contraindications:

Precautions:

  • Pregnancy category unknown

  • There is little evidence that bioflavanoids are effective for any indication and there is no established need in human nutirition.

  Adverse Reactions (Side Effects):

  • Relatively non-toxic in therapeutic doses

Dosage:

  • Dietary sources: rinds of green citrus fruits, rose hips, black currants

  • Administered orally

  • Dietary supplementation (RDA: recommended daily allowance):

    • none established
